Our American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course is a comprehensive program designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively to medical emergencies involving both adults and children. This course combines essential first aid techniques, CPR, and AED use for adults and pediatric populations, providing participants with the confidence and competence to provide timely and life-saving interventions in a variety of emergency situations. Through interactive instruction, hands-on practice, and scenario-based learning, participants will gain the skills needed to assess, respond to, and manage medical emergencies for individuals of all ages.

Course Highlights:

  • First Aid Techniques: Learn essential first aid skills for assessing and treating injuries and medical emergencies in both adults and children, including wound care, bandaging, splinting, allergic reactions, burns, and poisoning.

  • CPR for Adults and Children: Master CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants, including chest compressions, rescue breaths, and the proper compression-to-ventilation ratio, to maintain circulation and oxygenation during cardiac emergencies.

  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use: Understand how to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively for adults and pediatric populations, including pad placement, device operation, and delivering a shock when indicated for sudden cardiac arrest.

  • Recognition and Response to Medical Emergencies: Develop proficiency in recognizing and responding to common medical emergencies in both adults and children, including choking, respiratory distress, seizures, heart attack, stroke, and allergic reactions.

  • Hands-On Practice: Engage in practical, hands-on skills practice sessions using adult and pediatric manikins, first aid supplies, and AED training devices to reinforce first aid, CPR, and AED techniques and build confidence in responding to real-life emergencies.

  • Scenario-Based Learning: Participate in scenario-based learning activities and simulations to apply knowledge and skills learned in the course to realistic emergency situations involving both adults and children, enhancing decision-making and critical thinking abilities.
