  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Use: Understand how to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively in pediatric settings, including pad placement, device operation, and delivering a shock when indicated for sudden cardiac arrest.

  • Choking Emergencies: Develop proficiency in recognizing and responding to choking emergencies in infants and children, including the appropriate techniques for performing abdominal thrusts (Heimlich maneuver) and chest thrusts.

  • Hands-On Practice: Engage in practical, hands-on skills practice sessions using pediatric manikins and AED training devices to reinforce pediatric first aid, CPR, and AED techniques and build confidence in responding to real-life emergencies.
